(7) Industrial Carbide's nylon banding offers benefits including high tension recovery and high break strength. When pallet loads are stacked or vibrate in transit, the strapping / banding often becomes loose. This can cause product damage or personal injury. Nylon banding is perfectly suited for loads that shift or shrink in transit or storage, because it is elongated or stretched when under pressure, and it recovers immediately.
(27) Industrial Carbide offers polypropylene banding, which includes benefits such as high tension recovery and low cost. For use with friction weld tools (battery or pneumatic) or manual sealers and tensioners, polypropylene banding is woven and textured, allowing for superior grip in the friction weld process and with non-serrated seals. It stacks up well against alternatives when break strength is not a big concern.
(23) Polyester banding offers the benefits of strength and split resistance that polypropylene banding cannot provide. Extruded polyester lacks the high tension recovery that nylon provides and the break strength of steel, but it is available in more specifications than the nylon and is often more cost-effective than steel. If manual tools are used with extruded polyester, serrated seals must also be used.
(11) Polyester banding offers the benefits of strength and split resistance that polypropylene banding cannot provide. Woven polyester actually exceeds the tension recovery characteristics of nylon and is also available in many specifications. It matches steel banding's break strength, but its cost per foot can be high. If manual tools are used with woven polyester, buckles are recommended for superior joint strength.
